Looking to do something
different with your creativity?
Looking to do shit that matters?

COMMON is busy building a popup team of designers, strategists, and creative professionals for a Maniacal Business Attack (MBA) at the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic based in Toppenish, Washington. And we need you.

For four days this August, we’ll help the YVFWC build on its thirty-four year commitment to improving the quality of life for farm workers, the underserved and others in the Yakima Valley, Eastern Washington, the Willamette Valley and Eastern Oregon.

In the MBA, we’ll be helping this already amazing organization re-vision and re-create not just it’s identity, brand and approach to market but the very way healthcare is served up– equitably, fairly, efficiently, sustainably—in the face of ever-changing legislation, rising costs, new technologies, new media, new customers. We’ll attack it. Maniacally. And we’ll have fun.

Thank you.

We have our pop-up team for Yakima selected–an amazing group including designers, writers, illustrators, strategists, social media gurus, healthcare professionals and architects. Preparations are well underway. If you missed this opportunity to be part of an MBA, no worries. There are as many potential MBAs in our future as there are good ideas, big problems, opportunities and people who don’t know fear as a boundary.

So drop us a line at participate@commonmba.is and get on our radar.
We want you.

The Yakima Valley
Farm Workers Clinic

Focus & Mission

Originally established as a provider of health care for migrant and seasonal farm workers, the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1978.

Today the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic has 18 clinics, 36 total locations (including ancillary services and administration facilities) throughout
Washington and Oregon, impacting the lives of thousands of adults and children each year. Services are provided without regard to an individual’s ability to pay.
A sliding-fee scale is available for those without health insurance.

The list of services includes medical and dental care, behavioral health care and counseling, pharmacy services, treatment for substance abuse, community health services and nutritional services. There are also educational and employment training programs.

Many of the communities served by the Farm Workers Clinic have significant populations of farm workers and low-income families. To help ensure we are meeting our patients’ needs, an estimated two-thirds of our staff members are bilingual/bicultural. Many are from families who earn their livings from migrant or seasonal farm work.

What’s an MBA?

A COMMON MBA or Maniacal Business Attack, is a four-day deep-dive maniacal workshop that attacks same-o same-o ways of envisioning business and its impact on the world. We do vision, mission, strategy, voice—all that stuff everyone says they do as well—with one big difference. A Common MBA is driven by intent and authenticity. No company will succeed in this arena if it’s operating on a lie. We attack untruths and uncover the human passion for positive impact inherent in any organization and then show the way to unleashing that on the world. The words attack and maniacal were not chosen lightly.

These are raucous, fun events
that create real change.
